Motor Mount

Product Information

Cooling is a must for high power applications such as F5B. The mount is designed to have a high contact area with the fuselage whilst providing the maximum cooling flow over the ESC and motor. Some spinners don't have a cooling hole at the front, this is OK as the clearance gap between the fuselage and spinner is large enough to allow air flow.

Material: The CNC'd motor mount is made of high quality Aluminium 6082 for high stress applications (Aircraft grade applications). Grooves around the outside of the mount are designed to increase gluing surface area and reduce any chance of the mount ripping round due to high instantaneous torque loads. Glued in with high quality 24 hour epoxy, the mount and fuselage will make an extremely strong structure for F5B power.

This mount is specifically designed for the Neu P32 gearbox. However, if you want to put a Hacker in, the P32 from Neu fits the Hacker (not the geared version, just the plain motor, (the geared version has a completely different system). The P32 is available from Neu at $99 here http://www.neumotors.com/Site/Gear_Drives.html

* CNC Machined from High Quality Aluminium 6082
* Only 8g total weight
* 37mm Diameter (Fits Alex F5B, Alex mini E, Alex mini II E, Alex XL E, Alex XXL E)
* Fits Nue P32 Gearbox http://www.neumotors.com/Site/Gear_Drives.html

Fitting requires 4 hardened M3 cap head bolts, good quality 24hr epoxy, motor, prop and mount. First, test fit the mount in the fuselage, it is expected for the outside diameter of the mount to be emery clothed and the inside of the fuselage (carbon ring) to be evenly sanded leaving a roughened surface. Once a good fit is achieved, ensure the fuselage and mount gluing areas are cleaned thoroughly.

It is a good idea to check the thrust line (0º) at this point by bolting the motor in and attaching the propeller and ensuring the spinner and fuselage meet nicely.
Once cleaned and fitment checked, epoxy the mount in place ensuring all grooves on the mount are filled and a good fillet of epoxy exists around the back of the mount. Carefully wipe excess.

Bolt the motor in and attach the propeller and ensure(0º) thrust line. Allow to dry thoroughly vertically nose down before any flying or test running.
