The transmitter modules are of redundant design, and transmit/receive using two groundplane aerials. These aerials feature circular polarisation and offer virtually ideal radiation characteristics which are clearly superior to those of conventional W-LAN rod aerials. All transmit/receive data is recorded on an SD card in the transmitter module. Memory capacitors allow the module to continue to work for a while even if the transmitter battery fails - the ideal flight recorder. An audible signal warns the pilot if the voltage of the receiver's power source in the model falls below a particular threshold value. The transmitter module also provides a warning if the limit of range is reached.

Later there will be a firmware update which permits telemetry functions using weatronic software. Transmitter modules are available for all current Graupner, Multiplex and Futaba transmitters which feature interchangeable modules. The range of the weatronic 2.4 GHz Dual FHSS system is more than adequate, and the equipment is suitable for use with all types of model including jets and large-scale gliders. Measurements have demonstrated a ground range of more than 3000 metres at a height of one metre.

The modules are supplied complete with adapter fittings, connecting lead, and adapter housing (as original RF module) or adapter circuit board for connection inside the transmitter. The conversion can be completed in just a few minutes. It is possible to convert back to 35 MHz operation at any time.
