Xpro Build tips

XPERIENCE PRO V TAIL
Basic build and set up information.

When fixing the V tail to the fuselage, take care that the supplied 3mm allen bolts are fitted correctly, they must be fitted with the longest bolt nearest the leading edge of the V tail and the shortest bolt nearest the elevators, This is most important! When constructing the wing, the supplied brass threaded horns may need to be shortened especially for the ailerons.

Before fixing the ball links and the clevises to the fuselage pushrods, it is advisable to clean the inner metal part of the snake as it can be quite greasy from the factory. Please take extreme caution when you remove and clean the inner as it is VERY easy to bend it, this will result in stiff controls on the elevator. Do this at your own risk.

The plastic ball links can be attached by the method shown in the photo's. Simply bend the metal inner, heat it hot enough to melt the plastic and push on the plastic ball link. Fill the cavity with epoxy or araldite. Check it for firm attachment. You can of course use your own method.

C of G 101-104mm from the leading edge.
As a starting guide the hook position should be 3-4 mm in front of the CG, cut a slot allowing for adjustment at the corresponding point.
The method below may be of some help but check measurements carefully. Check the tow hook dimentions as there have been different revisions in hook design. This guide is for the latest hooks supplied which have fixing holes 53mm apart.
V tail version
Take the fuselage and on the bottom measure 500mm from the nose and mark this point, this mark is the centre position of the finished tow hook. The fixing holes for the hook are 53mm apart. Two 3mm holes 53mm apart should be drilled either side of the point you marked at 500mm. The slot can be up to 34mm long, this can be drilled along its line and filed out to clear the hook.
Please note that if you have the Cross Tail version the measurement will be different as the the fuselage has a longer nose. Follow instruction below.

As this picture shows place a vertical ply bulkhead and servo tray in front of the ballast tube, these will need to be cut from suitable ply. You can mount the servo's as shown or side by side, whichever suites the size of servos your are fitting.
